I really really miss my BFF Marquis who moved to Singapore for work last February. She’s my best girl friend and I can’t wait to visit her hopefully very very soon!
Do you have a BFF that you share everything with? I remember when Marquis and I even shared our first crush (a real local boy, not a Back Street Boy haha), we got annoyed with each other for a while eh pareho naman namin hindi kinakausap yung boy na yun. Brother lang siya ng school mate namin hahaha! We got over that quickly – kaya nga Best Friends Forever eh!:p
Now thanks to Palmolive, you and your BFF don’t have to share one boy! Get a chance to win a date with these cute twin boys!
Palmolive just released their newest twin sachet. It’s one big sachet split into two but don’t worry, each half is more than enough for one shower! Bawat cut sapat, bawat wash ganda! Along with its release, they’re holding a contest where you can win a double date with the twins, cameras and gift packs from Palmolive!
All you have to do is send in a photo of you and your BFF showing your beautiful hair while doing the “kawaii” pose (like how the girls in the poster are doing it). I tried to look for a kawaii pose of me and Mar and this is the closest one I found haha
I’m sure you guys can do better! Winners will be determined based on the creativity of the photo and the impact of its description. If you don’t get the grand prize, they will also be choosing runners up to take home cameras and Palmolive gift packs! Not bad!
Everyone says don’t do print on print but I’ve never been one to follow fashion rules
Baduy na kung baduy but for me, prints always make a statement and this outfit says “KEBS KAYONG LAHAT – MAGANDA AKO” Chos.
To make this statement even louder: a pair of red-beige La Boca Ray Bans to frame my fez. Their newest collection is the perfect “che” to the hot hot sun.
I’ll be giving away some Ray Ban goodies over the next two weeks so keep checking back. Or should I say… Keep CHE-cking back? (Waley)
I don’t know if you’re aware that my new Globe Tattoo commercial came out two weeks ago haha but here it is if you haven’t seen it yet! I shot the commercial with Danica Magpantay and Rio dela Cruz :) It was directed by my friend Adrian Calumpang and the location was ridiculously cool – the abandoned Manila Museum was turned into a rundown mansion.
Behind the scenes photos were taken by my stylist (and very good friend) Adrianne Concepcion!
Here I am before getting my makeup done by THE Jigs Mayuga hehe
Kuya photobomb hehe
Adrianne cutting the sleeves off my second outfit (the one in the car na hindi naman nakita hehe)
It’s 10PM on a Sunday night and I am eating cupcakes that CookieBar Manila sent me while watching Mad Men. Oh my lord, bukas na lang ako maghe-healthy living. For tonight – I will get fat. Thanks a lot, Ivorie Acosta of CookieBar Manila! Haha!
Ivorie of CookieBar Manila says,
[The Cookie has] been hiding in the shadows of the cupcake and other desserts out there because 1, it’s not very colorful and 2 it’s easy to make and reproduce. I love cookies so much that I want to give the cookie a new look and taste so everyone can have a better perception of this delicious dessert or snack.
Please crave with me and eat something fattening too after seeing these photos. Thanks.
Red velvet cookie cups with cream cheese frosting <3
In collaboration with Heima, Charles Buenconsejo and Aleyn Comprendio‘s two-man show entitled, “Sea Sun and Sky” and ”We’d Seen Each Other In A Dream”, is an exhibit of analogue and film photography. The photographs revolve around their childhood, nostalgia, nature, honesty, and stories from the south. “Southern Stories” is the combined title of the two exhibits, much like a book with two sides with varying points of view. This exhibit also defines some of the themes of the current summer season for Heima.
Southern Stories exhibit launch featuring Aleyn Comprendio and Charles Buenconsejo is on Saturday, April 28, 2012, 8PM at Heima, LRI Makati.
This note was forwarded to me by my friend Vin Dancel.

RETURNING A FAVOUR… by Dennis L Dancel on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10:32pm
Almost 2 years ago, my nephew was in the ICU because of neonatal sepsis. One of the people who took care of him then was a medical school classmate, Dr. Tec Flores, a pediatric cardiologist. For that, I will forever be indebted.
I promised her I would someday return the favour.
That day has come.
A few days ago, while attending a conference in Taiwan, Tec fell very ill. She suffered from an intracranial bleed because of a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent surgery in Taiwan and she is currently in the surgical ICU. Her hospital bill as of this morning was at PhP 800,000, and rising. Fast. She is a good week or two away from being cleared to be airlifted back to the Philippines, and God knows how much that bill would be by then.
I have also been told that her mother is also in the hospital because of breast CA with brain metastasis.
My classmates know that there isn’t much we can do for her at this point except to help out financially. We have been pooling whatever resources we could get our hands on to help with her expenses.
So here I am, appealing to your kind heart, for help.
Dear family and friends, I am begging for your help. I know it may be too much to ask for some of you, but If you are not interested with any of the photos, any amount would be of great help to Tec and her family.
Please send me a PM or email me at dancelmd@gmail.com for details on how you could buy a framed photo or make a donation.
Please help.
She is in a bad situation right now, and if it was I in that situation, I know that she and the rest of my classmates would do the same for me.

Kindly help out if you can. See some of Dennis Dancel’s beautiful photos below.

I am aware that it is already Thursday but I’d still like to blog about Holy Week.
For starters, here is a doodle I made via my iPad. Feeling artist na ako ngayon.
O diba? COMPLICATED ART YAN!! I made that doodle while I was contemplating on life last Good Friday.
I don’t normally get the chance to reflect on my life because of so many distractions everyday. Yes, I shouldn’t be making excuses but that’s the truth and I’m glad I got to do some reflecting this Holy Week. Let me share with you the things I have realized through the years that were strengthened by the past year.
Keep the few real friends you have rather than surrounding yourself with fakes. After many encounters of non-friends in high school and college, I have found it hard to make new friends. I think of myself as a good judge of character and I can tell who the users and abusers are. Mean girls are not just movie characters. The term “mean girl” may also apply to “men” who act like girls and spread lies. Stay away, they are not worth your time.
Some people will think that they are the center of the universe and when you do something that hurts their ego, they think it’s a personal attack. I experienced this when shooting a commercial and the agency got things mixed up – booked an extra person instead of the one I already requested so they had to cancel the other. Next thing I know, this person (whom I’ve never been introduced to so I didn’t think I had to explain personally) was lashing out on me and evidently also some of my family members. Perhaps the agency did not explain it well? Oh well.
I am also a victim of my own ego and sometimes I’d like to punch my ego when it gets in the way of reality pero masyadong maganda ang ego ko para sapakin. Chos being ironic here. Seriously though, I’d really like to work on setting my ego aside because nakakairita talaga kapag nauuna yun kesa sa rational thinking. I’d like to say sorry sa mga na-offend sa kontrabida vibes ko (as if nagbabasa ng blog ko ang mga irita sakin).
Keber sa drama. Wala akong kaaway so if you think inaaway kita praning ka lang siguro. Peace be with you.
Surround yourself with only beautiful people. I’m talking about real beauty (cliche: inside and out). Hindi por que model ka beautiful ka na.
Family first. When I say this, it doesn’t mean waleyin mo na ang plans with friends every time magyaya ang family dahil hindi naman pwede yun palagi. When there is a crisis and your family finds something to be questionable, hear them out. When push comes to shove, do not be stupid: always choose your family over your friends. Gets niyo ba? Di ko ma-explain. Flop.
So yun, now that we have that out of the way – I’m sure you’re dying to see the pictures I took (parang hindi naman). Sorry but I only took pictures on Easter Sunday!
Painting the eggs! A family tradition!
Eggs I painted
Egg with real flower glued onto it for “camouflage purposes” says my mom who made this. In fairness!
Maxx and the only egg she painted haha
Clara’s zombie egg
Clara painted this red car especially for my inaanak, Ivo, who is in love with cars
Clara’s mustache egg. Our grandmother said, “I thought it was a black bra”
Hello Kitty egg by Clara
Frank (who graduated with a degree in Painting from UP Fine Arts) painted a really career tree egg. Galing!
Our garden needs serious grooming
Zoie found an egg!
Lulu found an egg!
Gavin found an egg!
And like I said, I’ve started wearing pants again after about three years.
I didn’t take pictures of Elmo on purpose as punishment sa mga bumibisita dito para lang sakanya!! Chos. Hindi ko lang siya nakunan ng picture talaga. Next time!
Hope you all had a blessed Holy Week and don’t forget to let your family know how much they mean to you :)
EDIT: Some people are claiming Elmo was not at home with us for Easter Sunday and that he was out of town, on a date with a girl. Here’s some video proof that he was at home in Antipolo with family. Sorry for the late update but I was in Boracay over the weekend and though some are saying I would just take the video when I get back (and pretend that it was taken on Sunday), I think only CRAZY people would go to that extent. I know his face is not seen in the video but I’m pretty sure you know his voice. He’s the one in stripes. Omg I can’t believe I’m doing this but I’m just so tired of aggressive “fans” who act as if they know everything. PLUS: Julie Ann San Jose (Elmo’s love team) is an amazing singer and my family has nothing against her so stop with all the made-up drama. I will not discuss this anymore and I would like to thank the real fans who support our family. The Magalonas love you <3
EDIT:
Yay, my mom sent me photos she took with her phone last Easter Sunday. More proof! Love it when I prove know-it-alls wrong <3
I love this so much!! Haha thank you to Carla for sharing this link. A parody of Jay-Z and Kanye’s N*ggas in Paris turns out to be the soundtrack of my life.
